for a couple of months now i've been thinking about where on the internet i actually want to be. i think i kind of have that sorted out, but i'm faced with the dilemma of leaving as many social media platforms as i can while still having people be able to contact me relatively easily
currently the two big social places that i'm present in are discord and bluesky. discord's not going anywhere, that's for sure - i've looked into the alternatives but convincing my friends to move over there seems tedious. and i also don't really want to push that on them
with bluesky.. well, i haven't exactly been affected by it, but i've heard it's been getting kind of worse. the recent controversy with the ceo isn't exactly making it look any better either, especially considering the people involved and my identity. despite all of this, i'm going to stay - however i'll just be posting less. the main reason why i'm even on bsky is just to see pokemon art from artists i like (some of whom i have been following prior to moving to bsky on twitter. which i have abandoned almost a year ago by now, heh)
and speaking of social media platforms centered around posts. i don't think i've ever been particularly attached to the whole idea of posts. microblogging stuff on some big app just doesn't really appeal to me - i'd rather just talk about/mention stuff in chats. however making a blog like this feels a bit different. i suppose it's more personal when it's not surrounded by messages/posts from other people - i think i like it that way. i guess it's also more of a coherent thought stream? maybe i'm just saying words at this point lol
anyways. pretty sure that's all i got. just gonna try to stay off big social spaces in hopes of getting to actually talk to people directly more. it's what i want to do anyways
